Pencil Case Appeal

_
We've all been to school and had the luxury of our own items of stationary to write with but in many countries around the world this is still not the case. I'm sure many children at the start of each new year or even new term will buy all new it In Kenya children are now been given items? Well what do you do with the old one quarter used pencil or perfectly good case? in Kenya children are now given free primary education, well at least it is free in terms of teachers and "classrooms" other items such as compulsory uniform, books and stationary are to be funded from home.

Now consider that in the area of Kitale and at the school of Birunda that most of the 1600 pupils will be from a family of three of more children and then consider that two parents working everyday will earn an average of 1750/- per week (around £14). Not a great deal to keep the house in good shape and feed the family let alone have to pay for additional, in some eyes, unnecessary items.

Every child deserves to have the tools to allow them to go to class and work without sharing a pencil between two people or a ruler between ten or more.

All we are asking is that you provide a pencil case, old or new, for each child at Birunda and beyond if possible.
In the cases ideally they would have a pencil, pen, ruler, rubber, sharpener, few coloured pencils, a photo of the donor and a letter.
This small and relatively cheap scheme will have a huge difference and guarentee no more sharing of stationary giving more time for education. To cover the cost of shipment each pencil case need to be accompanied by 50p.

Please help this very good case and allow the pupils at Birunda to all get a present this year and have a good start to their new school year. Its not a lot, 50p, a pencil case and a few items old or new.
Tell your friends, family and local schools about the appeal and lets give the children a helping hand in their education.
